Influence of the terrain over plants
The terrain parameters also have an influence over plants:
- The terrain ambient occlusion will affect how plants will get relighted.
- The terrain color may also influence plants coloring, by relighting them and by tinting them.
This is the "Ground color influence / rand (%)" parameter in the plant's parameters in a biome:

The first term is a percentage of the terrain color that will influence the color of the plant's instance. This starts from the idea that a plant has color variations that come also from the soil richness and type on which it grows. The second term is just a random term.
Below is an example of a forest distribution with a fairly high ground color influence set on trees:
