Roads surface markings
Roads surface markings are extra pieces of meshes that can be added on top of a roadway mesh to reproduce classic road horizontal paintings. An example is shown below:
Road surface markings are using Materials, most of the time realistic materials with a transmission map to depict the irregular surface of paintings or to cut out meaningful patterns (pedestrian, bicycle lanes, ...). A road surface marking has two materials:
- A lane material for all rectangular lanes that can be painted. This applies to most types of markings (here a default white material for lanes in the image above).
- A surface material for all complex markings such as Y junction markings (used to show striped in the image above).
The two materials can be combined together depending on the needs of the markings.
Pedestrian crossings
Pedestrian crossings are a special type of markings that only appear at road points next to a road crossing. This is shown below:
