Troubleshooting installation
In an ideal world, we shouldn't need to write this. But...
Ok, if you get stuck with an installation problem, here are a few tips that might help:
- If the setup refuses to execute, try to run it with elevated privileges: right click, and select "run as administrator".
- If the automatic update refuses to execute properly, go to your temporary folder and locate the downloaded setup: this is in C:\Users\My_Name\AppData\Local\Temp. You should find a Setup-NDunes.exe file that you can manually execute then, with elevated privileges whenever needed.
If you get stuck with a runtime problem, where the program refuses to start:
- This can be due to a problem with your working directory (for instance a corrupted document file). In this case, rename the working directory to force NDunes to ask you for another working directory to start in, so that NDunes can start over. Also, it can be worth identifying the corrupted document by looking for the most recent files that have been modified.
If you get lost windows that you can't recall (for instance after a change in monitor configuration):
- MODIFICATION FOR ADVANCED USERS ONLY. Please proceed only if you're familiar with Windows registry, otherwise don't do it! Close NDunes, open the registry editor, go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software. Remove the NDunes entry and restart NDunes.
If some data aren't compatible anymore after a build update.
- Report the problem directly to us through contact@ndunes.com or on Discord (https://discord.gg/VvtNAEp), as this is clearly our responsibility to ensure an upward compatibility of data managed by NDunes.
